Preventive Services

Hygiene and oral health education

We’ll clean your teeth so they sparkle, and then teach you how to care for your teeth and gums so they remain healthy and beautiful.

Medical history

Did you know that having a disease like diabetes can make you more susceptible to periodontal (gum) disease?  That certain medications can affect the health of your teeth and gums?  When you come in for your examination and cleaning, we’ll take a complete medical history so that we can assess how your overall health will affect the health of your teeth.

Oral cancer screening

Worldwide, more than 300,000 people will be diagnosed with oral cancer this year.  Fortunately, when found early, oral cancers have an 80 to 90 percent cure rate.  We’ll carefully examine your mouth and gums for any signs of oral cancer so if there is a problem we can begin treatment immediately.
We provide ViziLite Plus

ViziLite

We are excited to announce that there is a new and better way to screen for oral cancer. ViziLite Plus is a simple technology that assists dental professionals in the early detection of oral abnormalities including premalignant lesions and oral cancer.

Nightguards

When you grind your teeth at night you can cause a variety of problems, from uneven bite to loose teeth to headaches and neck pain. We can custom make a special dental appliance for you called a nightguard, which you wear as you sleep to prevent grinding.

Restorative Services

When your tooth is decayed, cracked or broken, we restore it to a beautiful, natural-looking state.

CEREC one-visit restorations

The CEREC is a high tech piece of dental equipment that allows us to restore damaged teeth in a single visit. The result is a beautiful, natural colored restoration (crown, onlay or inlay) that is much stronger than before.

Crowns

You may need a crown if your tooth is cracked, decayed, damaged or has a large restoration. A crown is a permanent covering that fits over the original tooth providing it strength and natural beauty. Crowns can also be used to whiten, reshape, and realign your existing teeth to create a healthy and vibrant smile.

Onlays and inlays

Onlays and inlays are used for large restorations. Onlays restore the area inside the cusp and extend over one or more sides of the tooth. Inlays are used to restore the area of tooth inside the cusps.

Onlays and inlays are usually made of porcelain or of composite resin, making them invisible in your smile.

Tooth colored fillings

Today’s composite fillings are stronger and provide a better seal for your tooth than old amalgam fillings.  Best of all, when you smile it’s hard to tell that you even have a filling.

Cosmetic Services

All of our dental work is “cosmetic” quality - we always try to restore a tooth to a beautiful, natural-looking condition.  For those who want to enhance or change their smile, we also offer these special cosmetic services:

Veneers

Veneers are ultra-thin porcelain shells that bond to the front of your teeth to quickly, easily and painlessly change their appearance. Veneers are often used to cover chipped, stained, discolored, unevenly spaced, or even slightly crooked teeth. With veneers, you can get a complete smile makeover in as few as two appointments!

Whitening

Whitening can give an instant boost to your smile and help you look younger and healthier.  We offer a variety of in-office and at-home whitening systems that will brighten your smile and help you look and feel great!

Fixed Bridges

If you have lost or missing teeth, they can often be replaced with a fixed bridge - a non-removable dental prosthesis anchored to the neighboring teeth.

Bridges complete your smile, but they fill more than a cosmetic need. Spaces created in your mouth by the loss of a tooth can cause multiple teeth to shift, can lead to bite or jaw (TMJ) problems or can spur periodontal disease.

Orthodontics

Through an orthodontist who comes to our office, we can offer you both traditional orthodontic treatment and the new Invisalign “invisible” braces. The Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually move your teeth into the desired position without metal or wires.

Periodontal Services

Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection in your gums that, if left untreated, can lead to serious consequences, including the loss of bone in your jaw and ultimately the loss of teeth as well.  The bacteria that cause periodontal disease have also been linked to serious systemic problems such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes.

During your regular visits to our office we will check your gums carefully for any signs of periodontal disease.  We’ll also educate you about the best ways to care for your teeth and gums to prevent the problem.

Soft tissue management

If you are showing symptoms of periodontal disease, or if you previously have been diagnosed with periodontal disease, we will help you get your symptoms under control and teach you how to care for your teeth and gums to avoid recurrences.

Non-surgical periodontal treatment

Using the latest treatments for periodontal disease, including antibiotics placed in the gums, we can often avoid the need for time-consuming and uncomfortable periodontal surgery.

Periodontal surgery

If periodontal disease is persistent and does not respond to other types of treatment, gum surgery may be required.  We offer this treatment in our office so that you’ll be able to receive your care from providers that you know and trust.

Additional Dental Services

Implants

An implant is a special titanium post that is placed into the upper or lower jaw. The bone in your jaw bonds to the post, forming a secure foundation onto which crowns or full or partial dentures are then attached. Implants can help replace a single tooth, or a full set of teeth.

Dental implants allow you to speak and chew comfortably.  They’re the closest thing available today to getting back your natural teeth.

Removable partial dentures

Removable partial dentures are another alternative to replacing missing teeth in your mouth.  Unlike fixed bridges, they can be removed for cleaning.  If you’re missing teeth, our doctors will be glad to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the various methods of replacing them.

Dentures

Although we do everything possible to help you keep your teeth, sometimes they can be lost due to accident, illness or previous neglect.  If you need dentures, we will carefully fit you and help you adjust to them so that you can speak and eat comfortably and naturally.

Extractions (including wisdom teeth)

Although we try to avoid it whenever possible, there are times when it’s absolutely necessary to remove a tooth.  It’s good to know that if you do need a tooth extracted you can get the procedure done in a comfortable, familiar setting.

Sedation dentistry

Oral sedation can be a good option for our patients who are especially fearful or anxious about coming to the dentist or for patients who want to get a great deal of dental work done in a single, long appointment.
